Emergency Fire System Service in Salt Lake City

System discharge? Call now: 307-677-7296

When your restaurant fire suppression system discharges, every minute your kitchen is down costs you money. Whitewater Fire Protection provides fast emergency response to get your restaurant back online. We carry everything needed to clean, recharge, and reset your system on our service truck.

What Happens During Emergency Service

  1. Establish cause. We determine why the system discharged: fire, broken cable, equipment contact with the detection line, manual pull station activation, or other cause. Understanding the cause prevents future recurrences.
  2. Clean the system. We rinse the piping and flush with nitrogen to remove wet chemical residue and prevent corrosion. This also verifies that all piping and nozzles are clear.
  3. Reset shutoffs. The discharge killed power, gas, and triggered building alarms. We reset all shutoffs and restore normal operation.
  4. Recharge tanks. We recharge your suppression tanks on-site. No hauling to a shop, no waiting for the tanks to come back.
  5. Test and verify. We test the system to confirm it is fully operational, replace links, and tag the system as current.

In most cases, we complete the full process in one to three hours from the time we arrive on-site.

Frequently Asked Questions

My fire system went off. What should I do first?

Call 307-677-7296 immediately. Do not attempt to reset the system or recharge it yourself. Start initial cleanup of the wet chemical from cooking surfaces using soapy water, which neutralizes the potassium carbonate. If food was under the nozzles, it needs to be discarded. Do not resume cooking until the system has been professionally serviced and reset.

How fast can you respond to an emergency?

Response time depends on your location and the time of the call. We prioritize emergency service calls and carry all necessary equipment and chemical on our truck at all times. Our goal is to get your kitchen back online as fast as safely possible.

What causes a fire suppression system to go off accidentally?

Common causes include: not turning on hood fans before cooking (heat builds up and melts the fusible link), broken or loose detection cable, cleaning equipment striking the detection line, grease buildup on links, and occasionally, unauthorized access to the pull station. In 20+ years, we have seen everything from burglars to falling ceiling tiles.

How much does emergency service cost?

The cost depends on the size of your system and the extent of the discharge. While emergency service is not a cheap repair, the loss of revenue from a closed kitchen does far more damage to your business than our bill. We provide transparent pricing with no hidden fees. Call 307-677-7296 for immediate assistance.

Can you service any brand of fire suppression system?

Yes. We service all major brands including Ansul, Kidde, Pyro-Chem, and Range Guard. We carry compatible chemical agents and parts for all common systems on our truck.
